770 Gallon Monster Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome Awesome set up! Love everything about it. I'm sure it has been mentioned, but there are lots of pages in your thread. What are those two giant wood pieces and where did they come from? Thanks

Thanks for the kind words.

The two pieces of driftwood (stumps) were pulled out of Folsom Lake up here in Northern CA. They were actually one piece, but they were cut in two to be able to fit them into the tank. I have no idea what type of wood they are, but I was pretty happy to see them when I went to see the tank for sale.

The dw looks awesome in there!
Tank just keeps gettn better.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words.

Awesome tank and thread! Helped me out a lot. I was thinking is the tank 900 gallons?

Thanks, although a lot of what I did I stole the ideas from others on here.

If you use external dimensions, it comes out to around 900 gallons, but technically you are supposed to use internal measurements to calculate an aquarium's volume. The external dimensions of my tank are 120" x 36" x 48", so since my tank is 1.25" thick, the equation works out to (117.5" x 33.5" x 45.5") / 231 which comes out to a little over 775 gallons.

Nice tank!

The sump looks like a 20 gallon long compared to the aquarium XD

Thanks.

Great tank and set up.... one day yeah... bay area in the buildin'

Thanks. I love the Bay, but man is it expensive. I saw your solar panel thread...the only thing crazier than the cost of electricity in the yay area is the cost of having solar panels installed. I forget the exact numbers, but I've gotten estimates and it came out to about $25K for a 5KW system (that's AFTER the rebates)!
