Do you guys realize how much light it would take to grow live plants in that tank? 10 feet long and 3 feet deep :WHOA:

I do !

But there is alotof people ou their which has done it before with very good lighting . Me might have the money himself do the lighting to grow plants in a 10foot tank , but saying that he could ever go the way of getting plants which are low light growers or he could even go with a mixture of fake and live plants and then doing that he wouldn't need to go out and get the most expensive most brightest lights .

Kinda small for a full grown pacu, even at that size.

well, imagine in what size tank the same pacu he will buy would probably land if someone else bought it...
but if you're angainst buying a redbelly or black pacu: buy a few parrot pacus, they stay significantly smaller

Thanks to everyone who has put in some input. I think I am going to go with some discus and a few other various fish. Rays and Pirahnas are illegal here. The tank will be planted. lighting is no issue. I have 3 four foot t-5's, a 4 ft mh, and a 4 ft power compact sitting around. ( I used to have alot of reefs) And I do not care if I have to go by more. I am going to start the discus and the plants in my 210, and then transfer them over.

I will be getting a 770 gallon tank in the future. The footprint is 130x36x37. I would like to stock it with either 3 or 5 peacock bass, or 11, 13, or 15 Discus fish as the main focus. What do you think is the best choice? Also what could I add to the list?

Thanks,
Keith

Discus, definitely discus! Add to that a black ghost knife, black arowana, angelfish, a small bichir species and a shoal of cories.

Planted discus at that size of tank would be great

well i dont really like the discus tank with that much space. you could put some monster pbass in there. but its your tank so whatever makes you happy pleases me.

A ton of cories and tetras would look killer with those discus. however you should stick with SA fish then instead of loaches, ghost knives, and polys. The amazon planted biotype would be real cool.

I have no experience with this, but I think a group of geophagus (particularly the red heads) would look amazing in that tank with the discus.
