8" salvini rescue

Nice dude, I rescued a big male this last year too from a local store. It looked just as bad if not worse, but with some tlc it turned out to be very pleasing. Keep the progress updated with this one looks like it could turn out decent

Do you know how old he is? The reson I ask is this guy could be stunted in growth. Its not really common but on ocasion I see a big male up to and over 10 inches I've heard. I have never personally seen one bigger then 9.5. These fish must really be misunderstood because every male I have had has grown to at least 8 inches. Guess people just don't keep them long enough or something.

Btw really nice pick up useually the big males fetch a pretty penny. That's why I don't have my 9.5" male anymore I got 125$ for him and his female. His female was only 5 inches but was really nice. Keep the thread updated on pics. I'm curious to see him once he's better settled.

Well, the "father" told me they had him for 5 years in a 20gallon. And then i asked how big he was when they got him, and he held up his fingers to mark something that looked like 2-3", so i don't really know exactly, but my guess is 6½ years he is.

Wow really? you had a 9.5"?! holy ... that's huge!

But yeah, he's still getting settled in, and figuring out territory and hierarchi in the overstocked ~100g

In roughly a week i'll have a new phone, a Samsung ultra touch, with an 8mp camera, so hopefully i'll be able to snap a few shots of him then!
