8' tank help me stock it!

So I've been thinking of doing a Mexican biotope, have two or three big boys and a few firemouths. Whats your thoughts of this?

1 x Jaguar Parachromis managuensis
1 x Grammode Cichlasoma grammodes
1 x Fredie Parachromis friedrichsthalii
1 x Firemouth Thorichthys meeki
1 x Convict Amatitlania nigrofasciata

Or swap out the convict for a second FM.

Filtration would be two Rena xp2, Eheim Pro II 2026, and a Eheim Ecco 2232. Is that enough for these guys?

You can have a couple more fish than that. Its an 8 foot tank and since it is only 18" wide you should really keep to fish less than 13" so they can have a nice sized territory. Since the fish you should be looking at will stay relatively small for the tank size you can fit quite a few in their. Do you want any catfish? Plants? What kind of water do you have? Think about all this and then set your tank up accordingly.

Yes you couLd keep either oscars or jags in your 125g. I don't think a 125g is big enough for a large SA/CA community though. I would pic either a pair, which will really limit other tank mates. Or go with a large center piece cichlid and build a community of dither/target type fish around it, depending on it's temperament.

Hey guys and girls, after a little more research I found out that Guatemala has much better options for me in terms of what I'd like to put in the tank.

So new stocking idea is;

1 x Amatitlania nigrofasciata Convict
1 x Cichlasoma grammodes Grammode
1 x Parachromis motaguensis Red Tiger Mota
1 x Parachromis managuensis Jaguar
1 x Thorichthys meeki Firemouth
