  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The sumps are now painted on the outside. Picking up blue max today and plan to do that tomorrow! Picking glass up next week, hope to be rolling within the month

Awesome! That is tall and wide which obviously is the factor that determines pressure thus glass/acrylic thickness but if you do it right (which seems good so far!) It'll be fine. Plywood is always a tricky combination, many failures are from not curing it long enough.

Can't wait to see it completed.!

Cheers!

Lookin good...the ames blue max does worry me tho...i used it for a wooden lid on a 650 3 years ago and its starting to break down now and rot. Also tested it on my brick wine cellar walls and water still seeps through around 5-6 coats of blue max, it is also still very sticky during the summer when the walls are dry. Just giving u my experience with the product. i hope u got some better batches of it than i did. Ive read older cans can cause issues with drying and application. If all else fails u can still drop a liner overtop of it tho :) goodluck and nice progress.

Coat 2 on the sumps and coat 1 on the tank. I really like the way the product handles. I'm planning on 4-5 coats. It must be put on thick to work proper. It waterproofed a big cardboard box with one coat.

Well the second nice thick coat is on. I've already learned a few tricks about application that is making it easier. When it gets this thick it seems like pretty incredible stuff. I plan to make the next big coat tomorrow and that will leave me one more to do.
Next week I'm flying my plane to Arizona so it will give it plenty of time to cure completely. Thursday I'm picking the glass up. Ordered the main plumbing from AES, and can pick the rest up at Lowes.
