800 gallon plywood catfish tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tank is filled and running! Had it half full then had to drain and restart due to the tree anchor coming loose. Lights are on, lid is installed and bio- media is in. It looks pretty cool. I have a circulation pump with air stone in inlet that looks really cool as the water is filled with micro bubbles now.
I need to tidy the cords up. Then I'm going to put paneling and trims on outside of tank and paint walls of the room.
I need to begin cycling tank and I've got several options...what are your alls thoughts?
Option 1- grab some bluegill to "test" water and begin cycling.
Option 2 - safe start by tetra has always been an instant cycle for me on lots of tanks, this is pretty big though. Maybe a few bottles would still work.
Option 3 - fishless cycle by adding ammonia.

I'm leaning toward a combo of 1 and 2.

My rtcxtsn is really getting big for his tank.

WOW that is awesome! I would go with the bluegill and the safe start. If the bluegill are still alive in two weeks you will be fine. That's a lot of water. I think your cycle is going to be easy because you will be under stocked.

This room is better than I thought! I'm so pumped about getting my fish in here. Gunna go grab some bluegill tomorrow after church and begin. Paneling and outside decor is about done.
Going to put accent lighting on ends of tank.
I attached a picture showing the micro bubbles in the tank swell as my sump filters. All from Lowes:)
