8'x6' enclosure which reptile?

I think the plated lizards would be your best bet, to be honest I'm not sure if you've got the experience you would need for a monitor..

Not to mention if you're looking for something "tame" a monitor would be about the worst choice short of a crocodile. Monitors can be tolerant, but it's not something to bet on. They're intelligent and very intolerant of mistakes in husbandry, not to mention almost all of them are not captive bred, and all that makes for a bad choice for what you sound like you're looking for..

If you must get a monitor, I would suggest a few Ackies, they will utilize every bit of space you give them.
 
I think AJ is right but plated lizards seem really cool and very docile! I actually really want one now but how many could I keep in a 8x6? I think he would like some buddies around. What I love is that there so docile, don't get Godzilla size and they have an armoured look. An opinions on diets, deit schedule, type of lighting? Thanks guys also my 100g is empty later on I think ill do a beardy and In my 5x5 a blue skink. :) but that's a long time away
 
If you're talking Sudan Plated Lizards, an 8x6 you could probably keep ten of them, easily. Maybe more, but I'd stick with 10 until you can judge how many more you could put in. If you get one of the bigger, pricier species it wouldn't be so many, but I'd go with the Sudans.
Feeding would be insects as well as fruits, veggies,and greens. You could give them a pinkie every now and then if you want, it shouldn't hurt. Not necessary though, I'd not do it.
As far as schedule, you'd have to just experiment with it and find what works best.
They do need good amounts of UV light.
 
I think am going to divide the enclosure in half with (2x) plated lizards on one side and then on the other one female beardy and Spiderman lizard male

Those two species are from different genera not to mention that an adult bearded dragon is more than twice the size of an adult Spiderman agama.

Just stick with one species for this enclosure; I'm still with Chris on you going with a single monitor, though.
 
the plated lizards are really cool, you wont get bored with them. the lrs here has a giant plated that is a display animal, he's like a slow motion comic. a group of them in a enclosure that big would be loads of fun. i understand your thinking on the spidermans and beardies but after seeing the spidermans in the wild i dont think they could be kept with anything bigger than themselves, they would run and hide from anything that got within 15 yards or so when i was watching them. the blackthroat would be tons of fun too, every blackthroat ive encountered has been like a giant beardie, wish i had the room for one of them...
 
If the cage was a bit bigger I'd say a blackthroat would be okay, but considering that a good number of blackthroats get five feet or maybe more, I wouldn't go that way. Plated Lizards FTW. Lots of fun. While I was holding one, it slapped my brother right in the face.. LOL Fun little buggers.

If you do become determined to go with a monitor, look at what the food bill would be, and take a look at how much it would be over a year or so. That's a scary number to look at..
