^As always, great post!

I feel sad that some many innocent people died like reddevil said, they had nothing to do with anything which makes it so much worse. I also think it's time to move on though we shouldn't pass this off,but just remember, respect. I was in fourth grade when it happened.

we are all moving on ..that is what humans do .. we should and we have to.. because we are strong .. but i will always remenber .....as will almost all americans.

It is tough, many students think I am tough, but they know that it is for their own good... What is really bad is that my room looks like it is a total success to most other classrooms out their...Especially kids who parents are mad at the government...

Funny how people won't pledge to teh government but feel that the same country owes them...

I think that this day is important as you get older and more time passes the importance of this day will hit you more and more... 10 years from now people will not be able to imagine what the world would be like without it happening, or realize the impact it has had on their life. Try imagining what the world would be like without d-day...

........ I saw an eagle with a tear drop in his eye
It literally took my breath away
To see an eagle cry
I asked him, "whats the matter?,
And he told me what he saw

A cowardly attack was made on towers that once stood tall
He said everything he stood for had taken a shocking blow
Then he proudly told me
That our nation will survive
That our liberty and freedom
He will be sure to keep alive
He said for us not to be afraid
To stand together not apart
For terrorist has succeeded
if he puts fear within our hearts ...author unknown.

i think its great as a teacher that you talk about it with the students. i was in 10th grade when it happened and the staff at my school was in a debate on whether not to discuss it with the students. its an age when you're starting to learn more about yourself and the world. younger kids may not remember it from 6years ago or understand what really happened.

I would never have become SO patriotic (which I am believe it or not) If it were not for that dreadful day. I'm not happy it happened, but I do take away at least one positive from the event, my new found American pride! Currupt gov' or not I love this country and would never ever ever want to live ANY WHERE ELSE!!!!! I cancelled my honey moon over sees cause I don't want to be away from my home in the event our freedom is ever again comprimised. I am bound to the warm confines of our glorious nation, and loving every second that I am allowed to draw air from her......

When I moved to Washington in 1985 the Challenger had exploded while we were on the road. I was in kindergarten, my teacher cried, it was then when I realized there were events in this world that will resonate in our minds forever.

911 Is and was leaps and bounds more "traumatic" I can't imagine how it must have effected all kids in the age group Mike D teaches. Poor poor kids. We owe it to them to keep this event at the forefront of things that matter at all to us.

I would also like to use this time to express the fact that my typed words are in no way a representation of my 100% "real life self" I am a compassionate father of 2 and I have a baby due in the next few weeks. I cry often and am saddened by things that sadden you all as well. I feel like I come across as this mean tough hardened kind of person. You must all know that am sensitive and reasonable. Sorry for arguing such a fragile topic.....
