It's too small; and even if it is not, Venustus is going to get killed by aggressive zebra etc when small, and if he manage to get big, he will eat the mbunas

No he wont eat them and yes the Venustus will be fine. Venustus are gluttons and only care about eating not a very territorial fish (unless kept with other Haps or other Venustus). With that said don't feed them live or meaty foods, stick with pellets.

Not necessarily true...
Nimbos can be quite aggressive, themselves. Also, I can't imagine an 8" N. venustus eating 5" mbuna. As long as the fish are watched for any signs of trouble I don't see why the OP's stocklist won't work.


Also this ^^^ as far as dietary concerns go.

Hey peeps, been a while since i posted becaue i wasnt sure if id be able to get the africans or not but looks like i back on track! Over the last weeks i've been going over my stock a million times and feel like the the labs and zebras are too similar in color for my liking. Im thinking ill stick with the red zebras for sure. Then with them im looking to add pseudotropheus socolofi, a barred cynotalapia species and/or perhaps some saulosi. What are your thoughts?

In terms of bottom dwellers i like redtail sharks and pictus cats. Wud 1 shark and 2 pictus work together with thi stock?
