Imo that's a little high, I prefer to keep my tanks about 77/78 also keeping your tank at 82 you increase the risk of bacterial infections.
I will bring it down today then. That's what I was worried about but the O seemed to be the only one who that was a bit high for. From what I've read the acara and pleco are good for like 86. O high end was like 81.

Yes. Nothing against the electric blues but to me they look like someone colored them. The regular Blue Acara is just as beautiful and looks natural to me.

Couldn't agree more sir.

I got cichlid gold floating pellets.....my O comes right up and takes them from my hand almost.....the acara seems to not come to the surface but rather waits at the bottom and eats whatever my O spits out his gills........should I be worried or feeding something different?

I wouldn't worry. Does the Acara beg for food too? You could throw some food in one side of the tank and then quickly to the other side.

It's not that the O won't let him.....he just doest come to the top. But like I said he eats the left overs from O. I though about sinking pellets but would rather just keep the floating type.

The majority of wild oscars diet are insects taken off the surface of the water, if you look at the shape of Oscar's you can see its pretty well adapted for it. But alot of other cichlids will feed of the bottom acara included, and can feel insecure feeding off the surface.

Thank you Dan. Great advice. I will hunt down some sinking Hikari Gold.
