Hey,

I just bought a 1.5" adonis and i was curious as to the best diet for these fellas. I've read that they are opportunistic and will eat just about anything. But i was wondering what others get theirs to eat, and offers the best growth from their fish.

Definitely keep some driftwood in there for it to gnaw on. My old one would shred some up. Feed it shrimp, worms, sinking pellets, etc. It's all about variety

Mine is all over the tank. On the glass, sand, driftwood. Seen him munching on chunks of shrimp and fish and zucchini.

zucchini is a good idea and id keep plenty of bogwood arround the tank they do love to eat the stuff.

To be honest ive got 2 at 4" i got em at literally 05.-1" last december. I dont really feed em LOL.

They are in a 6x2x2 they have some wood which they eat, they do enjoy bloodworm pellets, they also eat a little bloodworm and mussle.

yeah i definately have wood for him. He's actually hiding on the underside of a piece right now. I will give him a good variety. Thanks guys.

mine is 4 years old and over a foot in size,.. he has an appetite for everything..silversides, sinking cat fish pellets,sinking cichlid pellets, loves algae wafers, and zucchnni any thing that reaches the bottom is his...for a baby i would try frozen blood worms etc.. good luck with your little guy..

Weve had a 102 Adonis brought into the shop it looks amazing! Long streamers but aparently it has a thing for rasping large fish which is no good.
