Rays have made a great recovery.

Have you been back to the store you picked them up from to see if they've brought any more in?

I actually just spoke with him and sent him an email with the posts concerning the rays we bought from his store. He says he hasn't brought any more in since we bought those five. They are not going out of business and might be getting more in, and so I recommended that I come down there and give them some tips on how to take care of stingrays. He didn't really sound like he liked the idea. He says it happens when they've been brought in from the wild and from shipping. But those legions came from one thing... HEATERS. He let me know that he has been doing this for 30 years, but I tried to explain that taking care of stingrays is much different than taking care of something like an Oscar, or whatever. We'll see what happens.

I felt that I was being very diplomatic to contact them first and offer my help. I told them that I wanted their business to do well, and for them to be a company that I could speak well of. I offered my help. I think Matt and I have a lot to offer.

Bah. We'll see...

very nice did and doing a great job what did you use to help them?

Thanks. :)

Oh man, lol. We did A LOT. Several pounds of salt, Binox, Prazi, dark light, 86 degree temperature, uncoated Vitamin B1, endless water changes, an FX5, two HOB-filters rated at 60-gallons... you name it, we have probably done it. I know I'm forgetting so much. It's been a long month, but they're normal little stingrays these days. Just a little scarring and some discoloration here and there. I can't wait until they are fully healed. I already think that there are so beautiful.

Thank you for making time to speak with me today. I really would have no problem coming down to your store and giving you some tips on how to take care of your stingray stock, even if they are shipped into your store injured and with disease. I would actually love to. It would be better for your business, better for the stingrays and better for your customers to do so. Any one who sees stingrays in that condition will know that something is wrong with them. It is an all-around positive situation for the consumer, the business and these gorgeous, intelligent, playful creatures to take care of them.

Thank you again for your time,
Ashley Faoliu
