ok, please do comment .It is a so-called high quality wide bars indo ?:ROFL:
Well classic-chasis please do

Why are you focusing on me? I only asked where you bought it and how much mate.
It looks like an ST tail, even got the crescent. Middle bar looks a bit thin though. For 11,000BHT i hope it is a CT or even a Veit tiger, or you've had your fingers burnt big style.
They are out there in limited numbers in both Cambodia and Vietnam, won't be for long though will they.

If it were me i wouldn't buy it for 2 reasons, firstly i don't trust my own judgment enough to part with 11,000BHT when i'm not 100% sure and it is Thailand. Secondly, well, guilt my friend.
I'll wait until they're established in the wild or they get captive bred. Until then i don't want one.
Obviously being a Thai you'll know established in the wild never happen because people eat the big ones, so i'll just wait until they're captive bred.
Here, you can watch all about the demise of the ST in Thailand, check my translation as well if you will, my Thai is a little shaky a times. I'd also appreciate it if you can finish the translation.

Is that a star tortoise in your AV? They're on the endangered species list as well aren't they?

Can you get a wee bit better picture on the tail.

I just zoomed in on tail, it looks like IT tail but I can barely see
The second gold line on the tail. Could be ST tail, but body shape and all others bars are IT to me. For 11,000 baht!!!!! Not a chance in hell.

I think you got me wrong.I'm not focusing on you is that we came from same country and i want to hear your comment on this.Thailand is the first stop over for ST before they being ship out to other county until now i heard of veit.Another thing is that i didn.t mention that this is Dat is from Thai water and i beleived that no one in this Forun did own one too.Dat from Thai is already gone about at least 15 years and Thai sold CT as ST after that, some said that CT so called ST that that only few pieces that have full second bars, that is bull****.Last 10 yars back the thai will only look for full ring on second black bars means not only the bars should be in full on the bottom and must be at the back also and the bars should be tick,so the lower quality they will ship outside Thailand as they are not here to hand pick.Indo Dat was here for many years already i have seen many wide bars but never came across one with this this colouring and bars only i seen it this years in thai market.I'm not convince that i had an CT but how come they just appear it this years after all is already here for many years already ? The tortoise in my avartar is not star tortoise.

I'll tell you what i know to be facts, the last wild ST sighting at Bungborapetch was 6 years ago. The people at the Faculty of fisheries at Kasetsat University called the research facility there for me to make enquirers for me about captive breeding. One was caught by a fisherman who under the facilities promise of payment called them, it died and was eaten before the scientists could get to it.
I agree with you about CT and Viet tigers being sold as ST, but the line has become fussy now and all Datnioides pulcher are being called ST.
I disagree with you idea that Thailand is the first stop for Viet and Cambodian Tigers. I do believe and have been told by a reliable source that a lot of them go directly to Japan.

Months ago there were thousands of tiny IT for sale at JJ market, it was unbelievable, they were in plastic bags being sold in the sidewalk.
I have been asking at some of the shops in JJ if any ST are available since VU.TT posted pictures and claims of wild caught from Viet. None, and i mean none of the shops I've spoken to have indicated that they might be able to get me one. I'm British so maybe i can't get one because Thais come first.
Last month however, ST were being sold in plastic bags of tables in the walk ways of JJ market. One vendor did admit that he was selling 3 bar indos but they were just like ST and challenged me to show him the difference, firstly my Thai is not good enough to argue about the differences of ST and 3 bar indo, and secondly as you know arguing in JJ is not a good idea if you don't want to visit the hospital. They were being sold for 500BHT each, while normal indos(which are still plentiful i might add) are being sold for 100BHT.

My own opinion has changed over the last few months, yes there are wild pulcher in both Vietnam and Cambodia. If you live in either place and you know the right people (as Vu.tt claims he does) then it's inevitable you will get your hands on a pulcher.
The further away form source you are the less lightly it is to get a pulcher, unless you have someone at source willing to pay big money for anything that is caught, ( i suspect this is what is happening with the Japanese market.) You might have been lucky and managed to get a pulcher from Vietnam or Cambodia, on the other hand you might have been unlucky and paid way to much for an IT. I can't answer that question because my eye for both fish is not good enough. I hope you have been lucky. For me if you're telling me it's pulcher i have to think you're right because i really can't tell the difference as well as others can, i'm like you, not sure.

What type of Tortoise is it in your AV? The little one sure does look like a Burmese star.

I think you didn't read my post carefully as i said Thailand is the first stop until now VEIT. Few years back all Jap come over to Thailand to get CT so called ST in Bkk.Veitnam only come to fish hobbiest seriouly only few years back.As you said that the local did caught ONLY ONE ST still cannot confirm that ther is available, cause the a lot of alein fish available in Thailand rivers now.It might be some one release it due to giving up, unless they caught a numbers of small one than we Thai will be very happy about it.Here is my former CT and i did post before in the forum and some old members here should have seen this one before.I force to sold it last 2-3 years ago due i'm moving to other province. The small tortoise in my avartar is radiatar.
