Ok,i do some short translation on this.Firstly i myself own this piece of CD of documantary for more than three years already and no idea when it was filmed. The fisherman said that he caught 1 ST last 5years ago means if 3+5 at least 8 years but it should be more than 8years by now as the guy in white shirt is a ray breeder and he still look very young. It think this doc shouls be more than 10 years by now.Second he said that The ST is already extinc when this doc was film and was extinc due to over fishing as food and sold to Japan as hobbiest.Today (means when the doc is film means about 10 years ago)all ST that is kept by hobbiest is from Cambodia or Veitnam. The color of the ST from Thai is more yellow and have very dark black bars (as you mention before)but the shape is the same from the cambodia. From now is what i said not from the doc. When some one said more yellow. How yellow is more yellow ? People said high bodies, how high is high.Sometimes tank background did help the fish coloring and regular feeding did help the body shape.classic-chassis;4611960; said:Why are you focusing on me? I only asked where you bought it and how much mate.
It looks like an ST tail, even got the crescent. Middle bar looks a bit thin though. For 11,000BHT i hope it is a CT or even a Veit tiger, or you've had your fingers burnt big style.
They are out there in limited numbers in both Cambodia and Vietnam, won't be for long though will they.
If it were me i wouldn't buy it for 2 reasons, firstly i don't trust my own judgment enough to part with 11,000BHT when i'm not 100% sure and it is Thailand. Secondly, well, guilt my friend.
I'll wait until they're established in the wild or they get captive bred. Until then i don't want one.
Obviously being a Thai you'll know established in the wild never happen because people eat the big ones, so i'll just wait until they're captive bred.
Here, you can watch all about the demise of the ST in Thailand, check my translation as well if you will, my Thai is a little shaky a times. I'd also appreciate it if you can finish the translation.

Is that a star tortoise in your AV? They're on the endangered species list as well aren't they?
No,i don't think so,cause NTT only have very light yellow,if the ST have the same color as NTT ,than is it very easy to compare but what i heard is that they are more like yellow-orange,i have seen only picture before but not an alive piece.I think it should have the color that i post in the above.classic-chassis;4618399; said:Karun, do you think more yellow mean the ST's colour is similar to that of NTTs?
Thanks for looking at the film.
