The growth rate is close to that of a congicus. I was planning to move it into a 100gal tank, but, think I'll keep it alone in the 60gal tank and see how long it can keep the external gills.

Some keep the external gills longer while some don't. If you really want to keep those long span keep it solo in a tank.

That 60gal (3X2X1.5ft) tank uses a canister type filter only (regular filtering materials).

When a fish grow that fast, it always gets me exciting. That sounds like the growth rate of a congicus. I've asked few friends who got the similar bichirs from the same batch about the growth rate. One of the bichir is only 5" now, and mine 10" is the largest one, the range is really large.

I just went to LFS and they left 3 then 2 cos i got another one more... :D
