The second paragraph in this article is really interesting. I'll provide a link and copy and paste it. The wolf instincts are stronger in adult dogs and the one that the guy had was 7.mi think?

A 7 months old wolf hybrid isn't a little puppy anymore and it is entering into the adulthood. A 7 months old canine is like a toddler in their terrible two stage......speaking from an owner with a crazy 8 months old border collie.

So, after all some wolf blood gets mixed with malamutes, as a breeder told me. I was told it was part of the process, but perhaps it is o create those wolf sogs, i do not know.

A wolf is not domesticable, nor has it any pet characteristics, so it is easy to see that a mix might pull more to the wild, predatory side.

This explains the kids finger eating, because the actual eating was a first, for me.

Somewhat irresponsible to keep such a pet with children, in fact.

The pure Alaskan malamutes have tested for the wolf DNA and they found no wolf ancestry in them despite of having wolf looks.

Alaskan Malamutes are one of the popular breeds to use for hybridizing with the wolves to produce the wolf-dogs. I think your breeder is misinformed. All sleddog breeds do not have any wolf blood in them and a dog with wolf blood is an undesireable trait for the dog sledders.

MN, ALL breeds of domestic dog come from wolves.

Of course they do, but that has no bearing on the point we were discussing about the modern, regular, wolf blood introduction in Malamute lines... I know very little about sledge dogs so i have no difficulty admitting that the breeder that told me about that practice was mal informed...

But it qas not hard to believe, in fact. Looks, no barking, howling...

Ancient breeds do not change very much and they weren't selected for their looks or their barking, which that is why the sled dogs looked like a wolf and do not bark very much but when they do, it's very rare.

I don't really care if you think what I post is relevant to what particular point you're discussing on this long thread Miguel... I was simply pointing out a fact.

Yes the dogs do come from the wolves but they are genetically different from the wolves as most dog breeds have been isolated from the wolf blood for thousand of years.

dogs are better than people. even the aggressive ones dont go out and premeditate violence, theft, abuse, rape etc.

Not really. Seen all these crimes in the dog world.
