All Malamutes have wolf blood. It needs to be refreshed every couple of generations.

Just as a side note :)

What kind of sick person keeps their dog in a cage?

Depends on the dogs temper. I had to keep my pit chino in a cage while he was home cause he was feed gun powder as a puppy and was very unpredictable.

Hello; Many people keep their dogs in a cage/kennel. Some are quite nice and roomy. It is a far better things than the ones I see tied to a tree. It is also a law in most places that dogs be kept "secured" in some way and not be allowed to run free.

hello; If biting a finger off is not an aggressive act, then please explain what it would take to qualify as an aggressive act?

A finger could be easily severed at the joint if bitten the right way. It's happened to my pinky when it got slammed in a steel door my finger wasn't completely cut off but about 60% barely hanging on by a piece of skin.

I know I said the same thing about the accident part when I first read it.

Even so it could be crossed with a wolf...as said, they need to do it quite iften. Perhaps this one was of the crossed generation....

Anyway, we are all derailing, somewhat.

The guy must have had a second to decide, him in schock, his kids in schock, everybody knows that tissues and members can be re-attached. Our kids ae our kids. Our dogs are, no matter how much we lmay love them, just, our dogs.

In my case i would not hesitate.

I rest my case.

Please keep the discussion civil :)

This should not be a passion-fueled discussion. When it comes to animal accidents, there is no revenge. If the dog had to be killed to reattatch the digit, then yeah, do what you have to do. If the dog was a danger to other people, then yeah... you do what you have to do.

But if it was an accident, an the dog didnt swallow the finger, and it's not an aggressive dog, and you kill the dog because it pissed you off... no, that's wrong.

People who deal with reptiles often say, dont blame the Snake. Never blame the Snake. You have no one to blame but yourself for your own actions that lead to injuries inflicted by animals.

Like I said, I guess I agree with retrieving the digit in this situation. But that's all.
