There is still quite a bit of noise in the photos. What is your ISO set at? Not saying they're crappy (they're better than I can take with my crap POS...I mean point and shoot), just trying to help improve!

I'll take any advice I can get. Here is some information for these shots.

Camera Model: Canon EOS 50D
Date/Time: 2009:06:07 20:44:37
Resolution: 1000 x 697
Flash Used: No
Focal Length: 100.0mm (35mm equivalent: 753...
CCD Width: 4.78mm
Exposure Time: 0.0040 s (1/250)
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO Equiv.: 100
Whitebalance: Auto

Actually flash was used but they were off camera. I used three flashes for these pictures. One Canon 430EX II with difuser on the top middle (front) of the tank and two cheap remote flashes on the top (far ends) pointing towards center.

Hmm. I actually haven't shot much with DLSR's, but have some decent (bunt not great) 35mm experience so my info might not be the most relevant, but you could try boosting the ISO a bit (200), decreasing the shudder speed (1/125) and widening the aperture to around F2.8. That should help reduce noise and give a shallower depth of field to really isolate the fish. You'll have to play around with the flashes to see how much light you'd need. Try all or one at a time and see what happens. It's all about light.

Man I need a DLSR. :(
