A few of my other fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks people. The afer used to be highly aggressive but somehow seems to have calmed down. Maybe the presence of the silver.

Here is a video of my clarias swimming, I'm not exaggerating when I say he swims around almost 24 hours a day, only resting for 5 mins sometimes. He is one of the most active fish I've owned. I thought they were meant to be hiders? lol

BTW the vid is incredibly small, it was taken on my phone :)

Great video of clarias... i almost missed it .. your right so active it is unbelievable ..has he always been like that.. yours would not walk but run if he got the chance!!

Red - actually when I first got him at about 5 inches as I remember, he was semi active. Hid half the time. Since about inches he has been hyper active like this, he is honestly like this 90% of the time.

Stotty - mine is an unusual clarias, he really is just a big dopey puppy, he has never hurt anything, and the biggest fish he has eaten is a molly. My tank now just had a light layer of sand and some driftwood. You're right it used to have more sand and plants.

The simply reason for this is most of the sand has been syphoned out and I can't buy any sand here :) The plants died and I can't buy plants here either, I got the other ones from a river.

Due to the appreciation of the loisellei and interest in platinum bichir, I have taken some more pics, just uploading, be with you in a minute ;)

OK here is a closer look at the loisellei, excuse the blur, he didn't stay still, but you can see his colours and patterning :)

And here are a few shots of my very shiny, very colourful, and very aggressive aro. I don't know what to do with this fish. Just yesterday he killed my long time resident 6 inch pictus, a little warrior of a fish :( And my clarias has a big cut on his side too.

Excuse the blur, he was moving fast today.

And finally a video of my aro in motion, you can also see platinum bichir swimming, and a rare moment of the clarias resting ;)

Great looking Arrow ..I am sorry he is aggressive, because your fish are beautiful and certainly would not want any hurt or killed ..sorry about your pictus... your arrow sure is shiny and colorful and healthy. What do you feed him? I found when my Arrow is getting too much protein in his diet he is active and jumpy when i give him a little less he is calmer and less aggressive..
