Just put Leon, my toadfish, into his new home this week. He moved from the sump of my reef tank, to a much larger brackish tank. He's much more active now and I felt like taking a few pics of him. Tell me what you think

Toadfish have extremely thick slim coats, plus Leon likes to dig in the sand and make pits. So it sticks to his bottom half. This happened last time he was moved to a sandy tank, and it lasted about a week or so before the sand just stopped sticking to him

awsum! a year or so ago i had one for about three days before it passed away. good luck with yours. he's (or she maybe) is really cute. have you got him to grunt for you? seeing yours makes me want to try keeping one again. i doubt i will part with my larger banjo catfish though to make room for a brackish tank. what are the specs on your tank? size, temp, more importantly SG. and what do you feed him?

I've had him for about 6 months now. He started off in freshwater with some other fish, then was isolated after trying to eat my bichir; then I slowly added salt for several weeks until the SG was about 1.014; then deciding to just go full marine, where he stayed for about 3 months with no problems; then I decided he needed more space last week so I put him and the dragon goby I had in the saltwater tank into a 35g all by themselves, and I'm slowly bringing the SG down to brackish levels. I'm aiming for about 1.012-14, right now I believe it's around 1.018. I keep them temp around 78, and I feed Leon raw shrimp and fish. I take a wooden skewer and put the shrimp on the end of it to feed him, and I feed him 3-4 times a week; which is why he's so fat lol

Also, I'm planning to make this a permanent brackish tank, and I'm going to get a few other true brackish fish.
And this will be Leon's permanent home. Nobody give me any nonsense over that either. I know, everywhere you go they say "55 gallons is the limit", but considering the fact that 9/10 people kill toadfish within the first month, and that I've kept mine very happy and healthy and thriving for so long; I think I should be able to pull off a 35 with a good footprint. Especially considering that this is a fish that doesn't get too large and hardly ever really gets up and swims other than at night. So no debates please
