A few random Arowana questions from new owner

Well his tail looked even worse today at lunch. He is still swimming ok but it's even more tattered looking. :(

Oh well not much more I can do. Hopefully it pulls through.

Parameters are good, temp is good, and water is fine.
 
If it's getting worse I would dose some Pimafix. I've had great luck using it to heal fish that have been beat on when they appear to develop an infection.

With that aro I would dose lightly and slowly.
 
Pimafix usually helps with infections when I use it. I would start after a few more water changes.
 
To calculate your gallons, multiply the three dimensions in inches together and divide by 231. Of course, this is not the true volume after you take into account glass thickness, gravel (if you have any) and how high you fill your tank.
 
Just a reminder, remember to remove carbon from your filter if any while using
medications. Hope things get better.
 
just wanted to add, i agree they do seem to get calmer with age, but every once in a while they still will get a wild hair up their *** and want to try a leap to freedom, so please keep all opening covered and weighted WELL!!!!
