I wouldn't go for more rays or an asian arowana. You would be better off waiting till your in a position to get a huge tank or another large tank.
With the stock you have now you won't have room. Rays produce a lot of ammonia. Much more than other fish. The nitrates in your tank will shoot up and kill your rays. That's how I lost my rays.
You'll end up like me doing three 50% water changes a week.

The rays i have at the minute i think will be going due to them being to small compared to the bass, i deffo hear what your saying though, is that what your doing now 3x 50% a week? i was looking into RO Water for changes to cut the nitrates right down do you know anything about what needs buffering etc? i have read that if you place the right amount of crushed coral in it will maintain it at the PH that you set but is there anything else that needs adding?

I'm pretty sure you have to add minerals to RO water or you could use part RO, part tap water for water changes. I am doing 2-3 water changes on my tank but the fish are worth the work. It's easy with hose pipes anyway. I might sell one of my monos or trade a pair for a decent sized orino if I can find one. I could do with reducing the load a little.

There just isnt any big orino about is there :( shame really it would be great if they were readily available but then i suppose it would take the appeal from them wouldnt it, i know what your saying it is worth the work but never the less alot of work i hate water changing even with the hose. Let me know if you do decide to part with a mono its a beautiful collection you have.

gotta love doin wc's every other day :) Thats what I usually do as well, 50-70%. Sometimes i skip a day and only do 2 a week. Man I need more tanks cause I dont really wanna sell any fish in my tank.

Water changes are a nightmare, when the hose just hangs inthe water and the water level doesnt seem like its going anyway :( my turn to have a go at it later on damn!!!

I know it's a bit geeky but I actually enjoy doing water changes. I even do them for my fiance when I go round to her house sometimes. I enjoy the end result. The tank looks cleaner and the fish seem to show their appreciation.

You cannot beat the security of knowing that the water is quality either, i took mine to be tested yesterday, nitrate 20ppm so nutrifin mini master test kit is aload of ****. it was reading me at easily 50ppm hence my worries, especially with rays.
