I love the look of this tank. One of the most natural I have ever seen. What kind of plant is that tall one in the back middle?

Thanks...one of the most disorganized too I'm sure :)

I don't actually know the scientific name (anybody?) - it's "water onion" :D

^^ I agree. I've seen a lot of nice looking Dicrossus lately.

Well that's what Grey recommended...those and some Taeniacara. Will probably include them in my next order.

Cool tank Peter. I love the onion plants to. I have some going in the 125g but they probably won't last long. I really like your scape.

Well the leaves look tough and there's a giant bulb, so I'm hoping they'll stay alive for a while...

Awesome looking scaping Peter!

Thanks :) I dumped everything in the tank and started pushing all the rooted plants into the sand and it ended up like this...The Uaru are already munching on some and the Guianacara are trying to make a cave in a bush, so I don't know how long the plants will last :(

The usual source :) A friend of his collected a group in Peru and I managed to get a trio after weeks of constant bugging :D They are a lot more aggressive than I though....the male already took out the smaller female

I gathered from a few of your previous posts that you had bad experience with them. What happened?

Well, I figured out where you got them .... just not when. :grinno:

Yeah, bad bad experience. Male went rogue, took out the female, four noto dwarf pikes (back when they were very hard to get a hold of), and ten true zebra plecos (L-46s). Probably my most painfull fishkeeping episode. I figured (and read) they were just over sized curviceps in temperment, much like a keyhole cichlid ... not knowing it would do it's best beani impersonation. I might try them again someday, but with deffinately a tougher crowd (bigger pikes, heh). Deffinately keep an eye on that other female!!!!

Oh, and the most common onion plant is Crinum thaianum.

:WHOA::WHOA::WHOA: man that's really worrisome, considering the future tankmates :(

Not sure if that would work out temperature-wise...well let's see if he behaves...
