ok, for example, Inigo Montoya in the Princess Bride.

that dude was a badass. he chose to kick ass with his left hand even though he was right handed. even with his left he was too good for most. now that's what a top killer should be like. he was too good with his right hand and would only use it when his enemy was worthy.

I think Jamie needs to pull take an idea from the walking dead and attach a sword to his right arm instead of a golden hand lol why hasn't this thought come to him yet? Sure you loose a lot of flexibility but its better then having a useless arm. At least attach a shield to bash with.

I agree with ballin tho, I'm not sure if he ever fought in any real wars other then when squiring for Selmy in the rebellion. Since then tourneys and such until Eddard almost kills him in kings landing.

Oh and the more old Greyjoy rebellion

I agree, a hook or something,.......... but a golden hand? Han bashed William's head in good with a metal hand in Enter the Dragon though, lol

so you guys are saying Jaime was mostly hype then? then he should not be no where near as highly ranked

He's just another chess piece in Tywin's game of power and he'd probably be a nobody without his father.

He was as the hand of the king...supposed to protect his nephew/son lol.Joffrey even mocked him and might have replaced him had he not been poisoned lol.

Im not saying hes hype but most reputation as far of the book goes was built on success in tourneys or heros deeds in rebellion/wars and not individual fighting skills. Its like comparing an nba player to a streetball/and1 mixtape player or mma and streetfighters. Maybe that gets lost when talking about peoples fighting skills

Yeah the whole chess piece thing isn't going to last long, Jamie seems to hate everything in the Landing and I feel he will probably leave to help Brienne and Pod. Most likely after cearsi does something particularly messed up, or if he finds out about her banging Lancell, where is Lancell BTW haha

Having taken fencing in the past, I can tell you it's very hard to switch hands. If you spend the time working both equally, then you lose out on being as good as you could be with the single hand. The stances, the guards, the blocks ... all completely different (I tried both at first since I'm ambidexterous). It's not like switching from left to right handed with a bat in baseball (I was a switch hitter too). SO much more harder.

Keep in mind his heart isn't in it yet. The actor did a great job projecting that into that scene. Of course, getting captured by a boy when you are supposed to be the greatest swordsmen in the land, losing his hand, and being rejected by his lover when he does make it back has totally messed with his mind.

Also harken back to the words of Saint Eddard Stark from the first episode, talking to Jaime, "I don't fight in tournaments because when I fight a man for real, I don't want him to know what I can do."

he was never hand of the king. he's master commander or whatever it's called

I get what you're saying but again, he shouldn't be as highly ranked then,...... dude is not top 3 fighter in westeros, never was either apparently

i get what you're saying but again, at the highest level of competition, I bet the elite of the elite are very good with both hands though and losing their main hand would not reduce them to noob level. it would reduce them of course but not to noob level. it looks like those crow noobs who suck at fighting would give him a run for his money right now

i used to think Jaime and ned were roughly equals in a fight, maybe even Jaime winning via dirty tactics. but now, no way, ned paint's the walls with Jaime's blood
