i was planning to buy a juvenile giant gourami about 3", and was thinking if it is okay putting it with an albino oscar at about 2". it's in a 5 foot long tank. split it half with a divider with a red devil on the other half . is it a bit small for giant gourami to live with the oscar? need some suggestions from the pros. hahah :)

5 foot tank is to small for a gg and to answer your question they could get a long in a large enough tank.

yup i agree, just askin though. but we have a gg once and we put it in a 3 foot tank ! O.O it was there for about 3 yrs. its size was about 18 inches long, but later put it in a larger tank.
thus, arent oscars agressive?

I had my Giant Gourami in with a Giraffe Catfish, Motaguense, Frontosa in an 8' tank. He got along with them all fabuously. That being said I saw a 12inch GG this week that wanted to tear my arm off. You will have to play it by ear and watch to see if the Oscar and the GG get along. GGs grow really fast, I mean fast! A 5' tank will be outgrown and plans for a bigger tank will be a must.

Your tank is far too small. Oscars can be wimps or aggressive, but far most readily in the wimp category when it comes to aggressive south American cichlids if put with aggressive South American cichlids.
