a giant gourami and an albino oscar in the same tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yup, okay. maybe in the near future. :)
i agree, i've seen the biggest albino gourami in my life in an lfs. hahah i know tht our gourami could nver reach tht size due to a small space. thnks though for the suggestion.

however, if the gouramie is healthy it should. sorry, but your tanks too small for it, however there are other smaller species of gouramie you could try. Good luck.

flower horn, I have heard that for whatever reason giant goramies hate oscars. I would try and give the oscar the whole tank, moving the devil elsewhere. they may already live in their two foot length, however they possibly may not be happy. happy fish= happy owner. you could move the oscar in another tank and get a female/male( opposite to what you have now) red devil and try breeding them, or maybe get an opposite gender Central American cichlid to create hybrids. just my advice.

huhuh. my flowerhorn is in the pond. i let it live there. but my red devil is extremely aggressive, this morning i was removing the algae in the tank then it charged at my hand. hahah
maybe if the giant gourami and oscar are put together since they are young, probably they could get use to each other. nver know until i try. :D

sorry for confusion I was referring to your username. there are other types of gouramies, super personable and more colourful. why not use the whole tank for a freshwater puffer? extremly fun. there are even tiny cute dwarf puffers you could try housing alone.

why not get angels instead of giant goramies?

actually i tried it before. but i bought them together. the oscar was okay with the angelfish. :) i should try it again.
I strongly recommend give the whole tank to the Oscar and the angelfish, as 2.5 foot length could be too small for the Oscar and the devil. why not just get a 55 gallon for the devil? just my advice

Hey flowerhorn guy. I suggest you not use Pole for advice until he qualifies what he tells you. He makes statements with no basis in fact. Although he is very enthusiastic he has an extremely limited amount of experience. Sorry Pole.
