Margaritifer, the red form of dovii, and a few others are hard to find even in nature. Beani is a common fish in the wild; it's just not been exported much recently.

I thought that beani was becoming harder to find because of habitat destruction? Same with istlanum. I know a guy that says he flew down to Florida to find a red dovii for a customer...

i'd say a male umbee is rare to find these days unless you get lucky finding one on sale or for adoptions but they still do go up on price that can make you go bankrupt on just one male umbee but depending on the size of it.

that kinda depends on where you live also , like here in northeast ohio cant find a dovii or umbee anywhere.

yup but when you want a male umbee specifically its really hard to get I believe anywhere in the US since for many reasons...but some don't know the true facts...like some say when young females tend to be more aggressive and become the dominant of the batch and ends up killing a suspecting male....plus if you go around...if you head aorund many places in the state you live in and other places outside of the state...the prices for just one male umbee over 12" can cost couple hundred dollars!! and many say the only way to get a chance on getting a male umbee is buying a whole batch of 6 or more....so in that case you may end up with maybe atleast 1 male....and the most umbee's sex people get are females....and as for doviis their not that hard to find at all...but as you stated it all depends on the state your in
