Why is eating a horse any different than eating a cow, goat, sheep, pig, chicken, turkey, fish, lobster, crab, clam, rabbit, duck, goose, deer, bear, moose, elk, etc.?

We have, in our culture, a strong relatioonship with horses. That is why it males it differenet in my opinion. Allmost like a dog...
But beyond that, you are right. All forms of slaughter and related activities are inhumane, be it cows, horses or chicken.

It's cultural.In some countries every living creature is fair game and in others people tend to be more discriminating.
Yep, but the you have the frenchies, tottally western culture, and they eat horse like banshees, like there is no tomorrow....
it is not the slaughter i am protesting .......... although of course this is against my grain....... ...i just cannot accept the torture before the slaughter in any animal.....and what they are doing to these horses is torture..... .
I see where you are coming from RD...This must be big business and the customers likely couldn't care less what these animals go through before they get what they want from them...So this,industry?..would have to be regulated to ensure the horses are handled better but who would best be able carry that out?

Do you eat any beef, pork, or chicken from a supermarket? If so you're being hypocritical.
Raising (and slaughtering) your own meat is the only way to ensure the animals were raised in a humane manner.
she's upset about the treatment of the animals. not that they are being eaten. well, she doesn't like that either but it her message is really about the treatment.
I feel bad for all the animals at slaughter houses that are mistreated.
I remember as a kid at a slaughter house where I saw one of the workers trying to get a goat to go somewhere. the goat was being stubborn so he grabbed it by its hind legs and lifted them up and started kicking it in its testicles
