by salt , u mean "aquarium salt" right? cuz thats what i've been using, and i thought those stuff is not actually salt n they wont turn water to brackish, its just some sort of crystal. or r u guys actually talking about salt that makes saltwater. is there any more economical method of acquiring large amount of "aquarium salt" other than stocking up on lil small milk cartons of them from walmart xD

your'e wasting tons of money buying "aquarium salt" in the little milk cartons. go to home depot or lowes and get a 40lb. bag of water softening salt. same exact stuff for less than $5 for 40lbs. its 99.9% salt.

Yes this is the way to go.

so i jut bought a bag of "Diamond Crystal Solar Salt, water softener salt 50lb" ... thats the right stuff right? and its the same dose as labeled on those milk carton aquarium salt right?

instead of figuring out what's wrong with your fish , you're finding out cheaper ways of buying salt :nilly: and apparently you are willing to experiment 'em on your 1K widebar :irked:....what you need first is an accurate diagnostic from someone who knows what he's talking about.....contact Lupin or someone with similar expertise regarding fish desises/treatments before is too late....at least that's what I would do.

yes,i had been asking people for n accurate diagnostic, and meanwhile waiting for replies, i dont see why i shouldn't be trying to keep using salt / melafix when thats the only recommendation i have so far while i wait. and while i'm running out of "aquarium salt" , i dont see why i cant ask for cheaper ways of buying salt meanwhile i wait for experts to reply . and i asked if the specific brand i bought is okay just to make sure i'm not using some industrial salt that'll poison my fish. i dont know if that make sense, but i'm just trying to help with what i can while waiting for reply instead of Just waiting for reply . :screwy:

Is it my imagination or does that look viral? Like a wart?

I was thinking viral and viral diseases usually can come and go but if the fish continues to weaken visibly, then the viral disease will overwhelm it eventually. That's how virus often works. They are more threatening when the immune system weakens.

Pupumole, could you try stroking that area gently? Is it hard or soft? It's hard for me to see it properly well if it looks like cauliflower growth. Is it?

There's no point persisting with Pimafix. Salt can keep bacteria at bay by preventing it from latching on any infected wounds but that's it. How much salt have you added so far? Stick to at least three teaspoons per gallon. Add a teaspoon per gallon every 12 hours, that's the gradual process.

its not weakening much, but that gill plate is just getting more n more swollen slowly.
it is getting stable-r gradually though...

and it is not cauliflower, i think. there are some light orangy soft-ish stuff, and theres some red pointy stuff that sorta resemble pimples ._.

I've never seen that before. Good luck and keep us updated on his condition.

Metro+ , follow direction and put him in a smaller tank. My suggestion...all the pima and melafix is not gonna do justice...
