A-Listers Flock to Google Climate Change Summit

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Climate change or not the issue has turned into a cash cow. Slap the word "green" or "organic" on anything and it justifies a 25% price increase.

Thats actually pretty cool. What made you choose to not pursue a license and 4 wheels ?
I had my learners permit, even took (and failed) the test twice, evidently you are supposed to come to a complete stop at those red hexagons ( hard to tell, observing 90% of drivers at stop signs) and the other time I missed a red light. I was looking in the sky, it was on a pole.

And spending a total of 7 years incarcerated, out of 9 years of life, on 3 different jaunts. Coupled with simply liking bikes. Happy to say I am now married and civilized, no troubles since 2005.

Good for you man. I love hearing success stories like this. Its not easy to change and learn from our past. Glad you were man enough to do it

I was a punk kid who never stopped stealing baseball cards from the store and it took a while for it to penetrate that no, the world did not owe me a living and no, it's not OK to think I am entitled to another persons property.
By all rights, I should have been shot, several times.

Hello; The above link is one I think of when one of these environmental threads comes up.

Heard on news that this Google climate change summit is a private and secret thing. Wanna bet they come up with lots of things the rest of us should do and pay for but somehow they will be exempt because of _______________ (add some convenient excuse that fits the celebs style).

There are some interesting statistics in that link, although im a little confused by the “today” at the end of certain stats... Is that meant to mean today; globally, in the US or some other part of the world????

Then there are the figures, i wonder how they got them and how they are calculating the results as they increase (im guessing taking averages of stats)... Either way, its a handy link to have for fun, although not sure how accurate the stats really are...

Hello; I went back and checked. Click on the blue term year and it switches to a daily estimate. Click on the blue term today and it switches to a yearly figure. So yes these are estimated daily or yearly numbers. Like you I am not so sure any number can be accurate to fine significant figures. Probably more accurate on the yearly estimates and a little behind any more immediate time. I do doubt that for this very day someone somewhere is getting real time data.
Click on the + at the end and sometimes more information is displayed and also sometimes a link comes up with more detailed stuff.

I'll see your bet a raise you! I am 38 YO, been a bicyclist my entire life. Never had a license, had a car once, I inherited drove it maybe 6 miles. Though I will admit, I wont hesitate to go with a friend as he drives his truck shopping, etc.

Many people dont believe me when I tell them that. It's true, between being hardheaded in my late teens to mid 20's and being in and out of institutions, and my love of cycling, I just never drove. Not saying I never will, just saying.
I knew a guy back in the 90's that was about 40 and he never drove in his life.(he lived in NYC).,

Theres tons of people in nyc who dont drive. Outside of Manhattan and some parts of Brooklyn i think it would be more difficult
