I have not made up my mind on lights yet.. Either going with Home Depot T5s or shop lights.. Still waiting for fish to go in to see which ones I like more.
I didn't get a reply from you so I got creative with my own light setup. I went with HomeDepot kitchen LED light for the night light. For daylight I use two T5 strips made for salt aquarium. Everything is plug and play with no wire splicing or rewiring. Wow.....your full tank shop is awesome. You even seal up the tiles with caulk. I see you put a lot of hours into the setup.

haha I actually like it dim. I will see if I want to add more light when the fish go in, but for now it will do. :)

The way we built the canopy, it makes it hard to get lights longer than 3' on each end. So I went with 2 2' lights on each side on the back. Will probably add 2 3' T5s in the front.
In my opinion dim lighting is actually better for the fish. Bright lighting is mainly because we can to see the fish better. The fish don't get freak when the dim light come on and they fight less. I rarely use my 10K lights cuz they go buck wild fighting when I turn it on.
