Nice place, but get rid of all that ugly gravel and use some more natural stuff...and aquaspace better. Get rid of the coluseum, etc.

The tanks seem a bit scattered, maybe you should organise them a bit better, plant lots of plants all around the walls to hide the tank stands or if it doesn't blow your budget, put them on a rack or build them into the walls...

You should be proud of that...being a chef and managing 8 tanks isn't easy...

thanks for you thoughts , the one reason why i have the ruin look to the 180 is to catch the eye of the child as they walk by and it works i can see their parents trailing in after them as they come to see the tank so its kind of a merchandising decision for me on this tank

on some of the tanks i just reused the substrate that the tank came with and will be redoing them in time i just took a full tank shot of each tank so ya can see how each looks

i wish i could mod the walls here but being a university campus that is off limits so what ive done is place the tanks against the wall so the fronts are in straight line and ive left a 3 foot opening so that i can get in behind them to do tank maintenance part of the issue with the color and look of the room is the way my exbusiness partner had it painted

this weekend is my get wet tank clean weekend so two of the tanks have some algae that needs cleaning off the glass and they both happen to be the most planted tanks so i find it interesting how having many plants in these tanks has also brought algae but when i get the pics on photobucket ill post them

Well good luck and have fun with it! Now that you mention it the kid attraction is a good idea...

There's a huge company called Rainforest cafe which used to be in Hong Kong but is limited to America now. They often decorate their restaurants with dim lighting and AMAZING aquariums - overhead passages, jellyfish, huge tangs, LR and coral.

But the one in HK closed down...

Go on Youtube and have a look too...it's awesome inspiration...

With all those tanks why not start a LFS!!!Lol

;) shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

you are the first person to actually catch on to what im really doing here

i dont pay for water , i dont pay for electricity so what better place to have as a show room than my restaurant and what better environment to do business than over a good meal or good cup o joe

i have registered the .com .ca and .biz domain names and at present am starting to develop the web site come this summer i will rip out my basement and redo it with marine grade drywall and mould resistant paint

so between my restaurant totaling about 1200 g and my house having 1500g in the basement and a building we are puttin on the vacant lot we own beside our house i should be running about minimum of 5000g of active tanks and from there in the right time i will put together my wholesale breedery

the restaurant is gonna be all fw and the basement is gonna be all sw or brackish thus far i have a full sw with 4 scats and a couple other and a brackish with 9 dragon goby ill get pics of them too

ive sort of backed off a bit from telling people what im doing cause i got tired of getting flamed by people who are possessed of a great level of knowitallishness coupled with a youcantdothatitis though im definitely not against constructive criticism actually that i welcome i just dont do well with people who use condescention as their vehicle to convey their thoughts i tend to answer back with a verbage right hook and then left cross

so to that end ive simply gotten busy doing stuff and i will post pics of it when i have it all done sort of a look what we have thread accompanied with a photo documentation of how we did it

That's pretty genius!

Keep a few of the tanks going as show tanks, remembering to definitely have a planted, a salt, a malawi, a terrarium, a rack of bettas.

Then get another rack of fish that are for sale
Livebearers and small fish
and write a little care booklet and sell 10gal tanks
