the very great sick an sad feeling of what it must have been like for the caiman who was living in here to have lived a short life only to die way before its time came to me as I was cleaning this
yes that is sad...but i have to tell you ...it looks incredible now..what a difference... you must have used real elbow grease..wow ..

what a bus trip it was, the road in one point was so bad the bus driver was almost bouncing from one white line to the other we could feel the trailer behind the bus doing a swerve movment as we were sitting in the back row.

then when we got to calgary we found that uhaul had reserved us a truck located 1/2 hour outside of calgary with no way to get there no bus nothing going to that town, so worked real hard to get the reservation switched to a calgary location was told that we were good to go for immediate pick up. Went from one location to another and finally get to the right location and the person who was supposed to return the truck did not. So there we are 3 hours late on getting a truck 3 appointments now blown out of the water and we end up having to go to yet another uhaul location to finally get a truck and what a truck it was the abs system kicking in while driving (talk about fun) and a steering wheel with 2 1/2 inch of play (I have driven farm trucks tighter than this). After a hair raising trip home here is the cargo

I had to leave behind 2 180g and the frontosa colony as i did not have time to get the needed supplies to transport them

here is the new bus depot in regina

this was a cool plant that I have seen and always meant to stop an grab some seeds from and here it was on the roadside by a uhaul so while we were waiting i grabbed some seeds and these pics

here are the four fish I did bring back 2 niger cats and 2 dwarf rainbow snakehead
I honestly thought I had lost a cat as the water cooled down to the point I thought he was dead
DSC07052.jpg

got them climatized and they took to the tank

oh yea and here are the tanks, they will be placed in the restaurant on monday night at 430pm
DSC07054.jpg

will update on how the restaurant looks later this week will be busy doing tank flips

ok so the tanks are now in place in the restaurant what a killer time moving them I am so wondering what the weight of an acrylic tank is of this size???

DSC07090.jpg

my existing 180 in the forefront so 150g empty, 300g empty, 180g empty, 140g catfish
DSC07096.jpg

DSC07093.jpg

300g limited edition ocean image(the sump hole is plugged and overflow taken out now)
DSC07095.jpg

the 180g will have a sump underneath

man oh man this is gonna be like a kid in a candy shop time here I sit with 3 empty tanks and 3 more waiting for pick up in calgary 2 180g and a 230g

I will most probably have the 300g cleaned out and set up by tomorrow morning, I have the live filter and live substrate from when it was torn down just 4 days ago

whoooooooooooot all nighter

very cool, looking forward to more pics

You could build false walls and hinged openings at the top of the tanks for feeding and waterchanges. Sorta like partitions with holes for the tanks front view cut out. That would clean up you area tremendously.

yeh would definitely clean up the area but would not fit the end of what we are going for here, thanks for the advice and please follow the build of this waterworld and tell me what you think along the way

well doing my wc that I did not do on the weekend do to the road trip and since i have the media and the filter that came with the 300g I am going to power it up tonight.

I will do the media squeeze on a few of my tanks to add seasoning to the 300g, but as rolando the person we got the tank from said DUDE THE FILTER IS LIVE ITS LIKE PLUG AN PLAY TIME

rolando has a green mohawk and was very cool guy even gave me some pizza after we loaded the tank

ill photo doc the fill of the tank, the plan is to make it the new home for the pacu and iri sharks I rehomed

be back later

i would be scared the customers might collide into the fish tanks.

every thought of selling all the tanks, and getting like one or two large tanks 500+ gallons?

again a valid idea except it does not fit the vision of what we are doing here. to do so would very much limit the ability to represent the diversity of what will be when I am done :naughty:

The whole idea of dropping all the under 140g tanks and putting in bigger ones is to create a panorama that encompasses the e s and w walls of the restaurant

it should look like this when a person comes in the door immediately to the right 180g, 180g then on south wall 230g, 168g 45g sumped sw, 180g 35g sumped fw, on the west wall 300g, 150g, 180g and 140g

solid plans are for the 300g to be the pacu cat tank, one of the 180g to be a front colony, the 150g will most prolly be a home for the johani , one of the other tanks will be purely for my bleekeri madagascar tank, will also have plans to do a killer flitter tank

I also have 2 knife fish at home, 2 ripsaw cats and 2 dwarf snakehead i am bringing here so have to figure a tank for them

all the tanks should sit at the same height and should have black back grounds with similar color natural decorations. you dont want it to look tacky.
