ah I wanted to add a thought for yall, the yardscape and building of the hatchery/garage and year round greenspace will transfrom the yard.

we were able to get the vacant lot beside our house from the widow who held onto it for 40 years because it was her husbands property and she kept it as a way of remembering him, when she found out that we had a large family she told her kids on her deathbed that the lot was to be sold to us so that we could enjoy it with our family. They sold it to us for 7 grand and the going rate for lots here in this area is 25-40 grand I was stunned when we got it.

Our house was built in the 60's and it was either do the outbuilding, fencing yard etc... or do the house. So last year the house got the foundation wall dug out and clay packed, new shingles, new insulation in the attic, new windows and doors except for the picture window which will get a french door treatment, a new energy efficient furnace. This year its time to start 1 of 2 things the interior retrofit or the yard stuff.

Presently I have only one tank left in the basement to move upstairs then I can start on the fish room. This will leave us with a 60g flitter grow out tank, 100g red devil tank, 70g brackish and a 75g sw fish only tank in the house as well as our various reptiles and animals.

Dependant upon finances I may just decide to do the fish room and leave off the yard for next spring as I have to totally gut the basement fish room and redo it with marine grade drywall and paint and set up the fish room plumbing and elelctrical. Just torn between doing the new building or doing the fish room.

WOW... Business must be booming to get all those tanks. I wish there was a place like that here.

love the idea of opening a side pet store inside there. Its terrible alot of LFS and chain stores the condition of there fish. Sick droopy dead fish in the tank. If you could breed the fish you sell and let people know the quality I think that would go along way ...

well I was looking at my 55g johani tank last week and I decided it was time to shut down my 100g move the hap 44 and jewels and salvini from that tank to some of my other tanks and move the 100g in place of where the 55g is and then set up the 180g where the 100g is.

As I was looking at my 55g I made the decision that it was time to move bonita into the 300g and turn the 75g into a nursery because almost without fail the male johani have the females holding in the 55g and its time to make it so that the females can actually end up with some babies for thier constant trouble and they were starting to look worse for the wear so here is the tear down process and set up of the nursery.

As I was pulling things apart one of the males proceeded to eat babies who were hiding in the nooks and crannies all the more reason for me to make a nursery, might as well get a source of revenue from all the babies who have up to this point been nothing but fish food.

I will have to take pics of the 55g now and the 75g nursery but here are a couple of pics

2 babies I managed to save they went in the 45g flitter tank

the next resident for the nursery hahahahhahahahhahahahhahahha
IMGP3153.jpg

the expectant mothers not sure if the pic shows how stressed these ladies are from the constant attention from the pimp in the 55g

IMGP3144.jpg

alas the baby that I was not able to save.

by my count over the past 5 months since the constant breeding has been going on I must have lost a killer amount of babies, this is the reason why I am going gung ho to make my fish room at home, time to get supply for my fish company

I noticed last night that my mated pair of bleekeri had come out and tried to get a shot with my telephoto lens, but still not good enough with my camera
IMGP3159.jpg

as soon as I got close off they go hiding so I went macro with my small lense and told them you can run but you can't hide

rather than start a new thread I thought I would just put this here.

I scored a deal this week, came across a person who took a bunch of goods from a failed fish company to do some reno work in the ladies house. He tried for months to sell the stuff and finally got frustrated because he could not sell it as people were really trying to pay him pennies for the stuff.

Well I went to go get the final portion of the stuff I traded a catering gig for and saw what he had in the garage and cut a deal with him right then and there almost 7 grand worth of stuff and he still has a freezer full of frozen food that I should be able to pick up. Gave him a $200 retainer with a promise to pay another $1800 over the next 2 months SCORRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Here are the pics of the stuff we got.

Insane score over 4 thousand dollars of ultra violet industries light bulbs ahhahhahahahha and over 1 thousand dollars of salt for sw.

I will have to do an update as I am changing things here a bit, dropping a 55g and switching it out to a 100g that I have here. Have turned a 75g into a nursery tank for fish that are holding-may as well sell some of the fry that happen here rather than let them get eaten.

I am also catering a annual function that I do for the cancer society called RELAY FOR LIFE, big difference is this year the Lt. Gov. of saskatchewan is gonna be there and they are being brought to taste my cancer fighting foods. I will definitely take pics.

back to fish will be starting to set up another 180g here to take the space that used to hold the 100g. And I am bringing my own art work to decorate the walls since the artist needed to pull her stuff for a show.

I have the series of shots from the relay that I will post here. I also bought a 1993 hummer last week yellow with black accents, it was for one heck of a price so I could not pass it up. I will post pics of that later but here are the shots from the relay for life, approx attendance to the event was 20,000 people. It ran till 7 am the next day, I shut down and left at 5am so I could get 2 hours sleep then come back and tear down and get started on my wedding catering that had to be done and dropped at 630pm. Was one heck of a weekend of work 32 hours straight with that 2 hour nap in the midst. Needless to say I did not open on monday and slept pretty much from sat night to sunday night without gettting up.

for the most part I will just post the pics with a touch of descriptive
