well forget taking pics on canada day I did not move from the bbq till it was the end of the night and I took shots of the fireworks, anyone wanna see the pics of them?

back on the restaurant side I started to do tank make overs and since it is summer time and almost no customers to speak of a good time to go nuts and turn the inside into a construction zone. Especially considering I just packed the guts of the concession I bought into the restaurant. I have a good month and half to get it all organized and neatened up so nothing to worry about.

4 shots of the inside of the restaurant as it was a week ago

i spent over 1 hour trying my best to get him out and even broke the tip off of one of my expensive japanese chef knives tryin to chip out the wood and get him free, his top barb had gotten stuck in the wood. I finally got him out he was breathing but the next day he was gone

well tonight was a fun night.

I went and picked up my 230g which has replaced my 55g. It was in the dudes garage and just the right height that I could back the van up and just slide the tank off the stand into the van. Then I put the stand on top of the van roped it up good
and off we went to the university. Don't mind my beater van I use it to transport kitchen equipment and tanks

IMGP5130.jpg

my daughter enthused with her job of making sure the trolly did not move when I slid the tank out of the van onto it ahhahahahha
IMGP5131.jpg

moving in and got it set up with 5 min help from passerby to get it on the stand

IMGP5141.jpg

it was full about 3 weeks ago, so I filled er up and gonna let it soak for a day then clean it off with a good algae brush and either bring my sw set ups from home or move my frontosa colony from the 150g to this one.

my next tank pick up is the 10ft 300g which i am pretty sure i do this weekend

so we did the pick up on the 300g 10 ft tank.

Very interesting trip, drove my beater van on the highway with the winter rad cover on and almost blew the engine ahhahahahhah.

The surprise element of the trip was the amount of fish that we brought back that were not expected. I was expecting to go there get the tank, finish the deal on buying the persons fish business for spring pick up and bring back some fish.

His email telling me how many fish we were picking up as he was shutting down the operation came sat morning and did not get to me till monday morning. Suffice it to say that sat was a very interesting trip as the return trip was with many fish and a van that would not go over 80km/hr and that was pushing it.

I have to give credit to the aussie culture!!!! I have yet to meet an aussie that I have not liked and saturday showed it again. When I pulled up into the loading dock with the tank in the trailer, I was faced with a dilemma. The breeder did not want to take the tank off the stand so here I was a 10 ft tank on the stand in the back of the trailer, how to get that onto a dolly. I had planned to put the tank and stand side by side.

Well, for a bottle of 12 yr old single malt and a bottle of rum, 2 aussie death metal artists and their manager helped me get it onto the loading dock where I had the dolly and I took it from there.

I hate losing fish but much to my surprise we only lost 5 angels, 6 demonsoni, 3 livebearer and 0 cory cats out of that many fish, sweet.

Now the only part is the killer water regime I am gonna have to do this week to keep it that way. I also converted a 180g to sw. I plan to change out all the filter media with fresh chemipure and do agressive wc to make sure conditions don't crash on a couple of the tanks.

Just some pics of the weekend fish adventure for ya

Plans are to put them in a 150g species only tank

wow i would love to have that 10 footer very nice...

well we got that big bad boy on the stand tonight, was funny the first time we tried.

3 engineering students came in to help and they discussed whether the glass would fracture then shook their heads and said do you have insurance and they left.

tonight a buddy of mine brought in 3 body builders and his cousin and the 5 of us got it up on the stand.

now to move my 180g that will be sw to the one wall and put the 300g 10ft beside my 140g. should be interesting. I am gonna drain down the 180g and do basically a 95%wc since i have no way to hold 160g of water and refill it with fresh sw but hey I am willing to waste the salt to have a better placement on the 300g.

Will put pics up later tonight

ok sleep monster ate me the other night

just started the drain on the 180g sw keeping 30% of the water in buckets then gonna move the baby around should be fun since im here solo mio anyone wanna come by an help lololl

for sure gonna load up pics and post them after this

ok so got both the tanks moved and set into place so now the room is set from left to right 230g, 180g reef, 20g feeder tank , 300g, 140g, 168g, 300g, 150g, 180g, 75g, 100g holding tank in back area.

I sold the 150g and will be moving it out when I transfer the frontosa colony over to it. I will pick up the 8 ft 430g it will go where the last 180 is and the 168g tall will move to where the 150g is, and I will move the last 180g to the space where the 168g was. DID I CONFUSE YOU YET LOLOLOLOL

IMGP5449.jpg

a couple of pics from the 230g taken after I had to power pack populate it so its going through a serious bloom.

the perfect stocking of the 10 ft tank
IMGP5416.jpg

I got this future monster yesterday
IMGP5424.jpg

today he took to shrimp like nothing else
IMGP5443.jpg

I am hoping to have the reef started stocking by next weekend, basically I am just moving my 2 tanks from home and putting them together so no issue with getting the cycle set and all the interior is from tanks that have been up for a while. gonna move the rock and smaller fish first.

I am filling up the 10ft tonight and gonna let it soak overnight to get some of the dirt and stuff loosened from it sitting for a few years, it has never seen water. The dude bought it then just shedded it and sold it to me for 1/3 of what he paid new.

ah i agree i have to make mention of the look , my previous business partner thought it would be brilliant to put 24 internet gaming computers in the room and told me he might be able to get the kitchen spot to which i told him take it ill make the kitchen pop but IF YOUR GAMING PLACE DONT WORK GUESS WHAT WE HAVE THE BEST PLACE FOR A FOODSERVICE IN REGINA and for the next 9 months he refused to honour our verbal agreement that i owned 50% to the which in sept i did an extreme prejudice maneuver on him which may have taken 2-3 months to finish off but as of dec 8 he ceased to have any say and we signed the lease yesterday for five years with as many five year renewals as we wish how foolish he was he did not even have to put any money into the restaurant equip side or even have to do any of the work all he had to do was sign over the 50%we agreed but his loss so now here we sit with a brand new company no accts payable lololol and he gets the whole shebang called soup r man and we get a ready made turn key location

what was so funny was this person could not admit he had made a very foolish decision to put a internet gamin center (with 4 year old machines)into a university where the student body as a whole has free internet so needless to say the gaming side of this place very fastly became a running joke with the university but the foodside took off some days we do 80 ltrs of soup

now since this university is a lock down location operated by aramark foodservice you dont just waltz in as a operator an open a place so getting in via my ex business partner accomplished something i tried to do over six years ago and it was with little hesitation that i shut down my restaurant fratellis caffe and my catering company a joy to serve to come an open up here 12 thousand people on a university campus being fed slop by a corporate jackal foodservice hell yah im in

so as the ex partner realized that he could not make me cower to him and soon realized that in sept after 9 months of working my buns off i was more than fed up with him so the fight began but hey how much of a fight can he do when i slapped his privates in a vice and turn the handle

so yeh the decor leaves some to be desired but we will very much take care of that
:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 Hell yeah bro.

10 footer looks sweet. How does the silicone look if its been sitting for ten years dry? Not trying to take the wind out of it something I am sure you considered. Just in case ;) Awesome tank

No wind taken out bud, I checked it over and the seals looked solid it was in a shed under some trees so no direct hits from sunlight. Just as a precaution I filled it up and left it alone for the last 4 days or so and thus far no leaks. I will give the wet clean treatment, touch up the paint on the stand and should have it set up by the weekend. Though I am gonna be extra carefull with this one since my front colony is going in there.
