I came in tonight to do some work on the tanks.
I started with hooking up the 2 magnum 350's and uv sterilzer to the 230g. Got that done with no hitches, no leaks all is well. I take a break to check my emails and then figured I should get to salting up the water in the 180g.
So I went to climb underneath the 300g 10ft to plug in my hand mixer I use for getting the salt mixed in to the water. And what do I hit but wet carpet

At this moment I am so hoping that the water I just hit is from the magnums as I was getting the hoses all cleared into the rubbermade tub.
Sure enough the water on the floor has the smell of old filter, so I am like

I have decided that from now on I will never set up a tank that is larger than 100 g without foam underneath. I always try to see the good in things when something bad happens. And the good in this is that I just knew I needed to come here tonight to do the work on the 2 tanks. Imagine if I did not find this tonight and the crack blew out the tank?
I will take some pics when I have the tank drained, but, basically the crack is straight across the middle where the brace is. At any rate the silicone held

I have a few ideas on how to fix this, but I am going to phone my glass dude that does work on my tanks and get his thoughts. He used to build big tanks for a living, so this should be something that he can fix pretty easy.
My one thought that comes to me is if it was simply done with the patch trick, considering this tank is not planned to ever move from the spot where it is. Has anyone ever seen a cracked bottom blow out a front or back panel on a tank?
Pretty much I am doing nothing to this tank till I hear from both the glass dude and some of yall here.
