Always try to move the male rays to avoid stress on the pregnant or injured females

Rays will flourish in a setup that has a large amount of water changed often. Even in a pond that size I wouldn't skimp on the water changes

The rays should not be sexually mature until 1.5 to 2 years old at the least I would think they are around 6 months to 1 year old now judging by their size


P.S rays love eating any and all fish they can get their mouths on

Will do water change, the plumbing has a system where when the water goes down below a certain level, it will trigger the thing like a buoy to release the valve of fresh water directly from the water tank. (water source is from underground, like a well system but with pump. In Indonesia we still use ground water for washing, the tap water from central contains chlorine, we don't use that for fish. So depends on the area but in my area, the ground water is soft water)

Yeah about the rays eat fish...lesson learnt.

I feed mine every 2 days, heavy feed,maybe not the perfect way of doing it, but they grow like champs, i do this becouse i have them in growout tanks at 180 gallon, so to keep the water good, i do it this way.. As for maturity you have to look at the male and see if he has rolled claspers,the claspers you can see behind, when they are roller they have a little splitt in them..On the females ive read 12" or 2-3 years, you can pic, they are difficult to know, i dont have experience on this myselfe.

my male is about 9" and he got a pair of noticable claspers, does it mean he is actually mature enough?

If they look like the one on the pic i posted, he is..But they have to be fearly big, not just noticable..my 2 males has like 4-6cm claspers.

Yeah maybe he's not mature yet, however this morning I saw him chasing a bigger female. Maybe it's food competition. Hoping here...

Yup! Got them from Anthony from Puri Indah. 1 male and 3 female. Bit hard to take close up pics now as they are in the pond. Are you from Jakarta too?
