...and yes, Louie, it is a ratsnake, Elaphe obsoleta sp....probably a grey rat.
naw man, the pic. are great....you just will not find me pick up a snake that i know nothing about. might be full of venom maybe not i know nothing about snakes. keep the pictures coming.
Thats cool...yeah, the folks that saw before I did insisted it was a cottonmouth, but as soon as I saw it, I could tell instantly what it was and that it was harmless.
