Chocolates grow relatively fast. Not as fast as oscars, but they will put on 1/2"-3/4" per month. You would have about 6 months if you start with a 2" before you'd need to upgrade to a 6' tank.

Well how about this, what is another cichlid with personality (recognizes ME), that will be fine with the sev and cats, that WILL outgrow the tank but not for at least 2 years. I am upgrading to a MIN of 125 gallon (180 more likely) in a MAX of 2 years. I know it might be hard for a cichlid expert to recommend a fish to big for a tank this size but like I said, upgrading for SURE (and I can always rehome it if something happens and I can't, which is unlikely).
You have got to learn to be patient. Bumping every 10 minutes only makes people not want to help you. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here, but not everyone is on all the time. You'll get the help you're looking for, but be patient and ease off the bumps.
