its still not true, there is no 100% way to visually tell male from female apart.

there even to young to tell lol. hold off for another year n a half. usually after that 3 year mark you can use your "pyschology" thoughts of why u think its a male female pair, but regardless there's no scientific way of knowing, especially by being told from a breeder that by the pic, its a male n female pair. sit back, enjoy life, n if they breed. then n only then will you know you have a male/female pair. otherwise, awesome pair of fish brotha.
