as my dad likes to say when he sees my tank, when can I bring my fishing gear:ROFL:

I'll keep sayin it, def not a poor man's pond. more like, my experiment gone good.

i"m saying "poor man's pond" because i only spent $2000 on the pond(that's .06 per gallon).
all work was done by myself. can't imagin how much it would have cost me to have someone else do it for me.
i was lucky to use equipment from my job to dig the pond. i'm sure lots of people out there can find the resources too as i did. but when me and my gilrfriend broke up after 15 years, to keep myself busy after work i dug a pond at my brother-in-laws house about the same size by hand in about 4months...

i had to steal boulders from the quarry(the company i work for sits in a quarry) because for some reason there are no boulders at all on my property(thats rare in my area).

what i am trying to say is anyone can have a pond if they have a little space and a little time... the only costs are for the stuff you have to buy; liner, pump. i would even make my own skimmer if i had to do it again, then it would have cost me $1600 for my pond.

around 30,000gals

That is some amazing work. I wish that I could do that. I guess I could, don't have the big rocks to deal with. Just the fact that I'm on an island of reclaimed land and at 20 inches you hit water. Guess I'll have to stick with my pathetic little patio pond and just look at your pictures.

Very nice pond. Reminds me of my gf's grandpa's pond in GA. It's fully stocked with 3 strains of trout. Fresh fish any time of year! Best part of it is it's naturally filtered by a mountain spring.

Thank you
Chris
