Im not a billie eilish fan either, she just happened to win the votes that year which probably sums up the poor quality of the music released lately.
I just listened to this, probably shouldnt have had my 5 year old sitting next to me when i did!
It was amusing and I sort of liked it but will never listen to it again. At least you could understand what he was saying in his deep voice. The thing is hip hop used to be about the flow and lyrics, having witty verses, skill with words/vocabulary and something amusing or serious to say was what made a good rapper. Now you cant understand most of them and they just talk crap anyway so theres no point. I will stick to the 80s and early 90s when im in the mood for rap I think. Theres a lot going on in the world to rap about these days and this guy is just going on about e girls? I made my wife listen to WAP the other day and she was appalled.
The endless cycle is my dad said the music i liked was crap and his dad said the same thing to him and now us older guys are saying it to you. I imagine you will be saying the same to your kids.
Another old man observation is that up until recently most people listened to the radio, all my working life I have had a radio playing in the background so depending on who has the power to choose the station (on the building sites i worked on in my teens and early 20s the owner of the radio had the choice and it caused brawls if someone changed it!) you are being exposed to so much variety of music from different eras and also different styles. Now everyone has spotify or similar and its just feeding you recommendations based on your playlists so if you listen to some dodgy commercial rap then it will keep feeding it to you. It narrows your choice, if you are listening to playboy cardi all day its doubtful spotify will play the beatles or metallica next so you are missing lots of good stuff.
The funny thing for me is that I like rappers nowadays such as some of 24k Goldn’s songs, but I also like punk rock or rock such as Metallica or Green Day. And I also like older rap from people like Mutabaruka. Plus, I like Wa-do-dem by Eek-a-mouse. I am absolutely appalled at songs like WAP, or 34+35, by Ariana Grande (tip, don’t listen to songs like that next to little kids). What I hate, is that every time I here WAP on radio, I get the beginning stuck in my head “there’s some ho-s in the house”
This could be the worst song I’ve ever listened to in my whole life. How do you like this garbage

One singer that I think you older people will like is "The weeknd" He performed tonight at the super bowl. Very inspirational life story, was homeless five years ago. But now is married to Bella Hadid and has a couple of platinum albums!
The Weeknd is amazing; I have been listening to him since 2015. I was looking forward to his halftime show performance, but the mic sounded low or toned down. It was still a good performance. Was he really homeless in 2016?...

! I'm in my early 20's and this is the kind of stuff my generation listens to. WAP is not a song about ''pleasure'' but about female empowerment and feeling free to be who you want without caring about others feelings on the subject. If you found WAP appalling you should definitely try to listen to 2 minutes of any of Megan Thee Stallion's albums, lmao. I do listen to Dababy, Drake, Bryson Tiller, etc. which I feel so of the older people in this thread should listen to because it's somewhat more clean and has better topics of the songs. **BEWARE** Bryson Tiller's most popular song are about a woman who's with him and another man and he's trying to get her to drop the other man** Let me know if you listen to any albums, singles, etc. and how you liked it if you did.....
