I have a Mag 18 on my 180 and it is great! so I would say that is a good size for you or a mag 24 at the max

Thanks everyone. I'm wondering how many watts a danner 3200 might use. I looked it up but keep finding differing specs

If I remember correctly the Hy-Drive 3200 uses 200W according to specs.

I know it is rated @ 1.6A so doing the math 1.6A * 120V = 192W.

well I contacted Laguna and they told me that their pumps are to be used in outdoor ponds only...Looking like the Pondmaster WFP 3200 HyDrive Aquarium Pump

at 5' head, 2050 gph, 200W.

almost 10 cycles per hour..incrediboo
I'm sure it's a liability thing. There's absolutely NO REASON why that pump wouldn't work on a tank, either that or the person you spoke to was a flipping moron. In fact, it would be better indoors since it would never get exposed to the elements.

yea thats what I figured. Does anyone know about auto shut-off systems? Since this is my first DIY overflow and sump system, i dont want to risk the pump burning out if i lose the siphon
