oh nice, I just looked up float switches and theyre about have the price for the same job
I'm still kinda iffy about the extra energy consumption though
There is no energy consumption, ittsa float switch. You just need to use some imagination to set it up to operate it upside down.
Id look into getting holes drilled in the back wall of the tank instead. But thats just me.
I use 2 quiet one 6000's on my 225g and it works great. Im also running a 55g sump. Its better to go overkill on your filtration than wish you had more. RIght Jose

It's got 2 pvc overflows and I'm gonna run a danner hy-drive 3200gph. its got 2050 @ 5' of head and runs only >200watts
