A tank that MUST be fed before cleaning.

What's with their mouths all open. They look like their trying to defend territory, lol.

And that's why I want a snowflake eel.

There is a place called Gerber Aquarium. They can get your eel for you. But you'll need deep pocket's. Very deep, I'm interested in the same fish aswell. I have a 3' plus Zebra now. It's the calmest fish i've ever owned. It won't eat a live fish if i slap it in the face on tong's. You'rs like that?

Yup. Mine's pretty old. I think Rich said it was 8+years old. VERY peacefull. I practically moved it by hand the last time I changed tanks. REALLY shy since the Yellowmouth and Dragon were added. Last I measured it was a little over 4 foot, that was when he was moved out of the 125 a long time ago.

Which eels are you talking about? Vipers or Mosaic/Koke? Probobly too much money for me if you're saying deep pockets, lol. I talked to guy from up in the Maine area that claimed to be able to get Vipers for like $150. He's been confirmed to get Chestnuts, so I wouldn't doubt it, but hasn't happened yet.

Viper's, But yes the price is very high. Looking $2K range for 30''.. This is what i've gathered. I'm holding out hope they come around in the 7-800 dollar range. That's seem's a little more fair imo.

You don't keep Tessy's? I though you had a couple?

No Tessys here... I fear they would eventually cause trouble with my Dragon and Whitemouths as they grow so much bigger.

Had a Fimbriated, Blackedge, and a Whitemouth that have all passed. Have a Snowflake, Zebra, G. Tile, 2 Whitemouths, Yellowmouth, and a Dragon.

$2K??? WTF? That's rediculous. But then again, IF I'm the one catching it you might have to pay me that much.....

I just can't justify spending $2K on an eel. Hell can't even justify it on a ray... YET LOL.. I just don't make enough money. Rays do make it easier though since probobility of reproduction is much higher, but for regular fish that just don't reproduce in a home aquarium it's hard for me to justify anything over $500, and that figure is shrinking quickly with every waterchange. I honestly don't know if I'd really even spend over a few hundy since I have my unicorn Dragon that I've wanted for years now.... Problem is he looks lonely.

Not gonna happen any time soon....

4 stunning new Marbles + More Characins = BROKE :(
Maybe by Christmas...

Only been looking for a Viper for 5+ years now. I don't anticipate finding one anytime soon. I've contacted EVERYONE and every place I can think of and I'll turn up are dead ends and empty promises..

But thanks Boggy.

It would be nice to find some big Lions....
there was a 4' tessa at my lfs... ate a 7" lionfish head first in under 5 seconds! the tessa was being sold for $100 and the lion fish was being sold for $150! the same eel bit the workers index finger and required stitches!:nilly:

Yeah my Tessie has killed 3 gymno tiles, and a toadfish she will be alone forever..

Very nice eel! Looks like a Mexican Dragon?

My dragon was caught out in Hawaii. It was less then the Koke... There's not a very wide market for eels that are big enough to eat all your display fish, plus I bought it from the diver that was bit by it when he caught it.

Tessies are very nice.... Yours is beautiful. I hear they grow big though and can be very aggressive, good tank mates for eels of a similar nature like greens, but I think they would be a poor choice to house with a Dragon since they stay fairly small for Morays.

Thank you.

Advice like this makes decisions much easier. My eels thank you. I was seriously thinking about it.
