tanks are a bit dirty and u can tell they dont take much care of them but then so do are LFS lol but they do have some cool fish in there

Dirty tank does not mean necessary bad - as long as water is good. And it is. I am sure all that algae helps to keep the nutrients down =P When i say, fish are dirt cheap, i mean they are cheap by western standards.

this shop is related to another one. the owner (the one i am usually dealing with) is sick for a week already - hence no discount =(

his mom was looking after both shops - grumbling about it too

I'm just saying I would. I would imagine them to eat much more than 4 pimas lol

Oh definitely. that many RTCs would be a killer to feed. Paimas are more difficult to feed cos they don't tend to eat oversized things - unlike RTCs

A lot of people who buy these monster fishes, keep them in earthponds in their gardens and all that

I could imagine feeding whole bbq chickens to a fully grown RTC lol

i am sure these are captive bred. They definitely do not have certificates for paimas. The only aros that have certificates here are those imported from farms abroad. I have seen a documentary in Thai about a place where there are monsterous paimas (it is on youtube actually in Thai) Usually there are alot of fishing places with paimas. Most are concenrated in Koh Samui where they can not escape. Though i am aware of a few on mainland too.

It is cheaper to have an earthpond around here than some of the set-ups i have seen on MFK. Those with more $$$ have them in concrete ponds.

so im not invited for a cuppa anyway? :( lol
if u get one im coming over for a swim not just a bloody cuppa lol

thats the thing though, even with rtcs, over here its like there arnt many people that are willing to look after them right. u no u only see them in zoos and aquariums coz ppl couldnt b bothered...its sad.

URE GETTING 4 MORE PIMAS!!!! SO LUCKYYYY!!!! i cant find any of them in malaysia anymore...why do u want 4 more. i thot u had many already! so lucky :(

Nice! I remember the last time I was in Thailand, I went to this area that just sold fish. It was interesting because some guy was yelling at me because he didn't want me taking pictures of his fish.

dang if i was there i'd pick up one of the arapaimas lol

A guy here was trying to sell a paima in his store for two thousand dollars. It looked to be about the same size as these.
