its not his pond
so whats he concerned about?

that pond does look overstocked, even if its huge, those are pontential 3 footers there. Thats pond had better be the size of a small lake
it looks like its feeding time in that pic
for one its very stressful on the fish having to battle for a bite to eat
also it can result in damaged fins and scales, oh and the disturbance of there slim coat, lowering disease resistance
also how can you make sure everyone is getting there share? and your not overfeeding the first dozen while the rest get little to nothing
the best way to feed koi in those numbers is to throw food in different areas of the pond
that way you split them up and it would be alot easier to get them there equal portions and prevent them from ganging up on each other.

Its a zoo...pretty sure its a large pond...
that's how survival is and that's what EVERY fish, whether it's stocked with a million other fish or by itself, go through during feeding.
why would you say there's fin and scale damage? even if there is, again, that's what EVERY fish go through, I highly doubt there would be any lasting damage. imagine a tank full of cichlids or piranhas??
I think you're just over reacting there man. koi are one of the most hardy fish out there... not to say the most wide spread fish in the world! a little damage here and there hardly does anything to these things.
as for the feeding portion, you might be right on that one.
sorry bout the koi pic it actoually is a small lake with an island and stuff that is just a dock where people feed them there were alot more in there tho..the zoo is in DESMOINES iowa....i will see if i have pics of the whole dock and lake.........tyler
Well what you just said is complete BS..........When my dovii gets 16" he will have a bigger tank trust me. And my Peacock Bass are now in TheTrust's tank so dont worry about me ace.....
