He's a big fella, right at 11" lip to tail (not including fin)
Cryptoheros myrnae male

A young pair of Cryptoheros panamense just beginning to color up.
The female has a similar dark blotch in the dorsal, with a bright ring surrounding it, very much like their close cousin above, the myrnae. She also has a dark lappet in first spiny rays of the dorsal.
