Say that when your several hundred feet down in an environment that is very hostile.

Think what you will, but a human life is FAR more important then any fish. That fish was being very aggressive and thought his hands were food. It was trying to eat, not the human, but his hands. It could have quickly turned fatal for the diver if that fish got out of control.

Actually, every life that exist in Earth are equal, no such thing as who is more important.

We shouldn't be the one who control the population of the other species, so in contrast "we are over populated", should they control our population? We are in the same family and living under the same roof, what gives us the right to act? :P

If its so "actual" can you back that up?

What gives YOU the right to say MY life is no more important then a toads?

Also, if that was you down there diving would you have let the fish be and risked death because your life is no more important then a fish's? What about your family? Is there suffering because you died a tragic death worth the life of a stupid fish?

so if it came down to your life and 2 ants being crushed, by that logic you would have to die :screwy:

Without watching the video at all, I'm going to espouse Peter Benchley's view. The ocean is the territory of the marine animals that dwell within in. All humans are trespassers, and should be faulted if their actions lead to injury. I don't care if you go in and a shark takes your leg off - you shouldn't have been there in the first place. You get on that other leg and hobble back to shore because that shark can come back and take the other leg, which is an action well within its rights.

that may very well be true, but humans>>>>>>>animals. Plus, it's like saying a polar bear has no right to attack you if it wanders into town

Please keep it sane guys. Don't turn it into a lock-worthy thread.
I don't belive the Red Grouper attack story. Grouper don't have teeth long enough to get all the way to the artery in the thight. Also Red Grouper grow to around 3 feet, not big enough to be interested in prey of human size, unless, of course, feeding was involved.

Ill scan a copy of the book onto here, also compared to fishing i think this was more fare.

I know youre young and inexperienced ( I am too at 23 for that matter ) but let me tell you from experience that fish dont have to be big to think they can eat PART of you. They dont understand hands, feet, fingers. They just see what appears to be tasty little morsels and go for it.
