Why Keep adding salt? Does it diminish or something?

Salt will not diminish even as water evaporates. The only way to take dissolved salt out of the tank is with water changes.

Ok people I NEED YOU GUYS!! How much salt should I add to help cope with the Pop Eye because some one told me that trauma based pop eye is soon followed by a bacterial infection and I think it is getting infected. So how much salt should I add to 29 gallons of water? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Have you read up on Salt baths??

2 tbs per gallon will kill him and quickly. He probably meant per 10 gallons.

You are correct. I did mean 2 tbs per 10 gallons. Sorry for the mistake.:(

What do you mean? My 125 is deinately not overstocked one bit. The biggest fish is like 7.5" the rest are 6" and 4". I would definately know if mine was overstocked because my nirates wouldn't be .03ppm of nitrate, 0ppm ammonia and 0ppm nitrite. So tell me how exactly am I overstocked?:screwy: I mean when the all reach 10" then yes mine is considered overstocked but I have plans for that.

A 75gal tank wasn't large enough for me to keep 2x 3" midas without a divider. You might not be overstocking the tank for biological filtration, but you may have too little territory for the number/type of fish you have.

.03ppm of nitrate is probably impossible. Most tap waters would be higher than that. How often and what size water changes are you doing?
